Enjoy your reading!
The software market today is driven by the rise of cloud computing, forcing independent software vendors (ISVs) to fight commoditization-driven margin pressure, expand to new channels and markets, and move to “frictionless” self-service transactions. These new delivery models have irrevocably altered how software is developed, distributed and consumed…
… that was the heavy “marketing” intro. Now to the real world!
Actually, the truth is that the software world has changed and continues to change at a rapid pace. So let’s not just talk about it, let’s get together, learn how to understand the market challenges from the best in the industry and from each other, adapt these to our own reality, and do better.
So Avangate is inviting you to join us for a series of events during November and December – pick the location closest to you: US, UK or China:
• San Francisco: Thursday, November 10th, 2011, Zibibbo Restaurant
• New York: Friday, November 18th, 2011, Crown Royalton Hotel
• Beijing: Saturday, November 19th, 2011, Beijing Huang Yuan Hotel Ballroom
• London: Thursday, December 8th, 2011, the Hospital Club
We’ve invited great speakers: Brian K. Walker, Vice President & Principal Analyst, Forrester Research, Inc., R “Ray” Wang, Principal Analyst and CEO, Constellation Research Group, Geno Prussakov, Affiliate Marketing Expert, AM Navigator LLC – check the links above to learn who is speaking at each location.
We’ll bring to the table not only great food, but also tips and guidance (and more!) on how to sell software and SaaS solutions in a world of many channels and many models.
Next step: register here. You’ll hear back from us – a friendly warning that places are limited and filling up fast!
Looking forward to meeting you there!

See you at Affiliate Summit East!
No Comments
We’re preparing for a trip to the US during August 15-17 – to New York City, to be more specific. I’m pretty excited to attend Affiliate Summit East 2010, a major event of the affiliate industry, together with my colleagues Adriana and Casey. So this is your chance to meet me in person:) and of course my other colleagues.
So why go to Affiliate Summit other than to meet our partners there and find new opportunities? To tell you the truth, we have some solid reasons to be there – here are the most important ones:
- since the beginning of 2009, our affiliate marketing network has grown rapidly, now having over 17,000 active affiliates that promote software products online;
- merchants have become more and more interested in a dedicated software affiliate network that gets them targeted sales all over the world;
- the latest survey sent to our affiliates allowed us to see what we’re doing OK, what affiliates need from us and how we should further develop the network.
So, long story short – we’ll be in New York during August 15-17 and we’re looking forward to seeing you there!

Our first Software Selling Conference in China
Comments (1)
Just in case you missed it, we are organizing our first Software Selling Conference in China that will take place on December 5th at the Park Plaza Beijing Science Park.
If until now China was just a very big country or a very fast developing market, now it’s getting personal: I’m going there and join for a couple of days the Avangate Chinese sales team. Well, I should say we are going there, as 3 geeks and one lady are going to play a very serious and challenging role of the host at the event :) We are going to try to make it fun.
What is this event all about?
For a start I am looking forward to meeting some of our clients I’ve been working closely with on web analytics implementations or a/b testing. Talking about testing, this is going to be the main focus on my presentation: Effective and tested ways to increase conversion rates. I will also try to make things interesting and hold a workshop just after the presentation, analyzing a website from the audience… depends on who will volunteer. Nothing staged there.

Work hard, play hard
No CommentsIf you’ve met with one of the Avangate guys or gals, then you probably know that this year we worked hard. We attended lots of conferences, had presentations, booths and wrote a lot of white papers and other articles. But you should also know that we also like to play hard and relax with our friends and partners.
That’s why I’m happy to invite you at the Casual Drinks with Avangate – Thursday, November 20th, 2008 at the Tied House in Mountain View. It’s the perfect time to come meet the Avangate US team and schmooze with other people from the software business. The event will be hosted by Casey Potenzone, VP Sales, and Daniel Nicolescu, Business Development Manager.
Discovering the fan part of your partners and mingle with software people seems like having a good time to me. Or at least because it’s easier to explain what you do to people that talk the same business language like you do, it should be a relaxed, informal schmooze. Of course I also happen to know that Daniel is an excellent wine expert so it’s always nice to be around him at parties ;)
If it sounds like fun to you too, register now here.
