Dear Bob, thanks for this remarkable article.
We are a young and very small mISV now, but I have always thought that the customer service is important thing, especially for small companies. And you present all this stuff in such clear way, I've found some new issues. Thank you.

Those are all very good resources - and for those who don't know Peldi, his microISV Balsamiq Studios - http://www.balsamiq.com/ - is doing very well. Definitely check it out.

Great post Bob, thank you!

A few more links which might be useful to people:
- I totally agree that great customer service is a big competitive advantage in this day and age. The mantra is "Customer Service is The New Marketing": http://www.csitnm.com/ - I dream of a future where everyone understands this and we all benefit from outstanding customer service, all the time...can you imagine? :)
- http://www.getsatisfaction.com - This is what I'm using for forums/help desk/feature requests/anything that has to do with customers. It takes things a step further by treating you (the company) and them (the users, customers) as equal. It's been a great tool for my Micro-ISV.
- I subscribe to the Customer-Company Pact and are proud of it: http://www.ccpact.com/
